FAQs
What kinds of writing do you support?
We support students in three key areas:
• Coursework-related writing, such as essays, literary analysis, research papers, and other academic assignments.
• General writing development, including support with structure, argumentation, voice, and clarity.
• Writing for specific goals, such as competitions, awards, contests, and creative submissions.
Our instruction is designed to strengthen not only academic performance but also long-term communication skills that support creative, personal, and professional success.
What age groups do you serve? How many students do you work with?
We work with students aged 13 and up, including high school, college, and graduate students, as well as adult learners. In rare cases, we may work with exceptionally high-achieving younger students who demonstrate advanced writing ability and maturity, but this is determined on a case-by-case basis.
Each tutor works with no more than 10 students at a time. This ensures that every student receives sustained, personalized attention and that tutors have the bandwidth to offer thoughtful, high-quality instruction. We do not overextend our instructors—protecting their capacity is part of what allows them to do their best work.
Do you help with college application essays?
We do not offer college application essay support. However, we are deeply familiar with the admissions landscape and provide targeted recommendations for services and individuals who specialize in this area. We’re always happy to help families find the right fit based on their goals and timeline.
Who are your tutors?
Our team is composed exclusively of educators and writers who earned their graduate degrees from the Ivy League, and many have also earned their undergraduate degrees from the Ivies. All of our instructors have taught at the college level, and many have also worked professionally as editors, researchers, and consultants. Several have earned awards for their writing or scholarly work. We select for deep expertise, teaching excellence, and a shared commitment to elevating students’ writing through individualized instruction.
Why don’t you publish tutor bios or photos?
We prioritize discretion—for both our clients and our instructors. Our tutors often maintain roles in academia, publishing, or research where privacy is valued. Instead of highlighting individuals, we guarantee a consistent and exceptional standard of instruction across our team.
How do you match students with tutors?
We begin with a brief intake conversation to understand the student’s goals, academic background, and learning style. Based on this, we pair the student with a tutor who offers the right fit in terms of subject expertise, personality, and approach. Students may continue with one tutor long term or work with additional instructors as needed.
Are sessions virtual or in-person?
All sessions are virtual. This allows us to work with students nationwide while maintaining flexibility and accessibility. Our tutors use collaborative tools to make sessions interactive, productive, and engaging—no matter the distance.
Do you offer group classes or boot camps?
No. We are focused exclusively on one-on-one instruction. We believe that personalized mentorship is the most effective path to meaningful growth in writing—something that cannot be replicated in group settings or pre-scripted courses.
How do we get started?
We begin with a short consultation to better understand your needs and how we can help. From there, we propose a plan and match the student with a member of our team. To schedule your consultation, please fill out the contact form below. We look forward to hearing from you!
How do you take payment?
We accept payment via wire transfer, ACH, or credit card (you will be responsible for 3.5% fee).
What is your refund policy?
We strongly believe in our abilities to coach students to success. To that end, should you wish to discontinue services, we will happily refund you for any unused service. No ifs, ands, or buts, and no explanations needed.
